Looking for a way to use late summer’s abundance of garden herbs? We’ve got you covered with this easy pesto recipe!
Doubled-Up Pesto
- Wash 2 large bunches of fresh basil and 2 large bunches of fresh tarragon;
- Rip off the cleaned basil and tarragon leaves and place in a food processor;
- Add 6 cloves of fresh garlic to the food processor;
- Add 1 head of roasted garlic to the food processor;
- Add 2 ounces of Parmesan cheese to the food processor;
- Add 1/2 cup of shelled walnuts to the food processor;
- Pulse the items in the food processor while slowly adding about 1/4 of extra virgin olive oil;
- Pesto sauce may be stored in a tightly-sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or frozen in a freezer-safe container for up to 12 months. Enjoy on sandwiches, pizzas, pastas or grilled meat and vegetables!
- Variations: Feel free to substitute another plentiful garden herb for the tarragon or a different preferred nut for walnuts.
- Ingredients: Fresh Basil, Fresh Tarragon, Garlic, Parmesan Cheese, Walnuts, Olive Oil.
